BOC committee votes/actions on BET's FY 2016-17 Proposed Budget

Dear RTM Colleagues,

I am copying below for you the full prepared speech I had intended to give to the body tonight. As you will read, it was meant to give every single RTM member, committee and district member alike, ample time to read the BOC's direction and Motions with the upcoming May budget appropriations. These items were thoroughly debated at the committee and the resulting actions and Motions reflect the 11 districts (D1 was absent) perspective. Attached are documents for our TS budget review of the Fire department and GEMS.
Included are:
A full review of the NW Fire Station and Staffing proposal.
The towns new ISO Rating report.
FD answer to TS "Questions".

Item #3 – reappointment of Ms. Patricia Kirkpatrick as a regular member of the Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) for a term expiring 3/31/20.

Item #4 – appointment of Wayne Sullivan as a regular member of the Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) for a term expiring 3/31/20.

Item #5 – reappointment of Steven Certilman as an alternate member of the Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals for a term expiring 3/31/20.

The Finance Committee met on Monday, April 4 in the Lower Lounge at Town Hall at 7:30. All districts were represented (with Jason Ennis representing District 8).

There was a large contingent of Town officials in the audience to include at least six members of the BET (including Chairman Michael Mason), Barbara O'Neil (BOE), Steven Walko (New Leb), and Peter Mynarski (TOG). Most stayed for the first hour and then left for other Committee meetings.

as promised, here is my view of the HMC for use in reviewing candidate positions/qualifications:

Change of Room for Monday, April 4, 2016

The Land Use Committee will meet in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 8 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016.
This is a Joint Meeting with Public Works and Legislative and Rules to take up Item #12, the Old Barn deed restriction.
Following Item #12, we will move to the Cone Room to take up Items 7, 8, 10, and 11.
I will move to postpone Item #11 until June, at the request of the Appointments Committee.

Notification of Additional Agenda Items to the Town Services April Committee Meeting

This notice is intended to provide formal notification that on April 5,2016
The Town Services Committee intends to take up items not currently on the April Agenda.
The Committee intends to hear departmental budget presentations as
part of the Town’s annual budget process.
The April Town Services meeting will take place in theHayton Meeting Room
(3rd floor, Town Hall) beginning at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
